what a day!

With the giant boost from the Etsy Finds feature my little shop got a lot of traffic, new friends, and its first sales! its all just too much :)

some unexpected fun.

turns out today i was featured in the etsy finds email! check it out here. took me awhile to figure out how i had 400 hits before lunch, but thanks to google analytics and the forums i easily solved the problem.

so exciting! though i'm thinking my day job productivity is going to tank today...

Monday.

I hope everyone had a delightful weekend. I had fun times with friends and a great dinner on saturday in nyc. I also saw the movie Blue Valentine yesterday (with Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams) and I am still trying to find a way to be happy again. Extremely well acted but exceedingly cringe-inducing and depressing (go see it!).

This morning I got up extra early before heading off to the day job to snap some photos of my latest design - the Waverly drawstring cowl. My neighbors must think I supremely strange having a fashion shoot at 8am out on my snow covered porch. Listings should hopefully go up tonight! But here's a sneak peek in the meantime :)

even though i had two surprise snow days, it still feels good that its the weekend. time to get out of town and see my friends in nyc :)

we've already had a surprise 4 inches accumulate and we might get another foot before its over! thankfully i get a grown-up snow day out of it :) one of the few perks of commuting.

worked hard today to get more photos taken and listings up on the etsy shop. im pretty happy with how everything is looking! hopefully i can get some new designs done and get those up soon. also would be nice to get my first sale! in the meantime i have two "scarf-laces" to make for friends so i think ill step away from the computer and get back to the yarn :)

Grand Opening!

my shop is finally live and i got some listings up! man oh man it is hard work to get photos, edit them, write up listings, etc. but even though its like 0 degrees outside i had like an hour of sunlight to try and get some photos done. i'm pretty happy with how everything is looking so far and it was really encouraging to have some people favorite my listings as i was posting them! now i guess i just need my first sale...

getting started

attempting to launch an etsy shop is both exciting and frustrating.

due to my work schedule, i end up having very little free time during daylight hours. this makes it a little hard to get photos of my scarves to set up listings. i attempted to squeeze in some picture taking today before the sunset but this was a little difficult due to the fact that i was using timer mode on my camera without a remote and its impossible to focus the camera where you want (hopefully this will be solved by my purchase of a $2 remote control). it was also pretty funny to be out in the cold on my back deck balancing my new camera on an oversized container of whey protein. but i must say that my new camera does take beautiful photos! see below.




hopefully i will get some proper photos taken this week and listings up shortly!
